Q: Is there a place in town to exchange money?
Yes, We accept USD, and take it at varying exchange rates- currently its 10%. We give CDN currency back when a customer pays in USD. The Tamarack Outdoor Store also does currency exchange.
Q: What are the hours at Chief Mtn Border Crossing?
The border crossing is currently CLOSED with no opening date in 2022

Q: What happens here in the winter?
The town empties out to about 40 year-round residents, who enjoy the beauty and solitude winter brings here. Few businesses remain open - including Glacier Suites, Waterton Lakes Lodge and their on-site restaurant Vimy's. Waterton typically sees a large snowfall and typical winter temperatures. It's a beautiful winter wonderland.
Q: Do you need your passport to take the Boat Cruise across the lake?
No, however if you plan to stay on the US side of the border or do any hiking beyond Goat Haunt, MT- then yes, you do. (Waterton Shoreline Cruise Co)
Q: Do you sell diesel?
No, the closest place for Diesel is Mountain View (Barn Store) if travelling to/from the East, or Pincher Creek to the West.
Q: Do you have a public washroom?
No. The closest washroom to the store is directly across the street where Parks Canada has a year-round washroom.
Q: Do you do tire repair?
We do! We are set up to do minor tire repairs (auto and bike).
Q: Do you have an air pump for tires?
Yes, you will find it in our back service yard, next to the propane tank. Help yourself!
Q: What kind of payment cards do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express etc) except Discover.
Q: What do I need to rent a bike?
We require a credit card for deposit for each rental, and all renters (of any product) must be over the age of 18.
Q: Do you do oil changes?
Yes! As long as we have your filter/oil in stock we can do oil changes same day; if we don’t currently have it in stock, we will do our best to get it in within a day or two.
